An Elden Ring player has encountered a hilarious glitch that makes the Tarnished's face look warped. Interestingly, the player is able to reproduce this issue in Elden Ring by performing a certain combat move.
FromSoftware's Elden Ring is one of the biggest games to come out in recent years. Not only has the action-RPG shipped tens of millions of copies so far, but it also swept the award shows in the year it launched, memorably securing 2022's Game of the Year title. As a result, a multitude of players still dive into director Hidetaka Miyazaki's world of the Lands Between every day and get immersed in the adventure. While playing so much Elden Ring can enable some players to truly appreciate the game's richly constructed setting, on another day it can also lead to them stumbling upon glitches, which may be hilarious or ugly, and sometimes both.

One Elden Ring Mod Should Finally Put the Lid on the Game's Biggest Can of Worms
Elden Ring has received a variety of mods, but one in particular could finally bring a long-running debate about the game to rest.
On Reddit, user XenoVerity posted a video that showed their Elden Ring protagonist Tarnished getting a funnily contorted face right after executing a specific attacking move. The clip showed the player doing a certain action time and again, only to see their Tarnished follow it up with the same goofy face in each of those instances. The attack animation involves the Tarnished jumping into the air, before slamming down on the ground in a ball of flames and getting back up with the glitched face that lasts for barely a second.
Elden Ring Player's Tarnished Gets Wacky Face Due to Glitched Animation
While a glitch in the protagonist's animation can definitely be annoying, the very short duration of this particular issue doesn't do too much harm to player immersion. While performing the move that triggers the goofy face glitch, the Tarnished's back is usually faced towards the player because of the action game's third-person view. Hence, there is less of a chance that it will be a noticeable issue during gameplay. Regardless of the unimportant nature of the glitch, the Elden Ring community on Reddit had a good laugh about it. Several comments joked that the Tarnished's scrunched-up face looked as if the character had licked a sour lemon. Another user quipped, "That's the concentration face for that move."
Since releasing Elden Ring, FromSoftware hasn't slowed down, launching a highly-rated expansion called Shadow of the Erdtree earlier this year. Although there is no official word about more story content for the game, the remarkably positive response to Shadow of the Erdtree suggests that fans would welcome the decision if things were to change in the future.
